Our group studies cell division, especially in the context of resistance to cancer drugs. We are particularly interested in studying the mechanisms of chromosome segregation, and how its malfunctioning contributes to the emrgence of resistance to treatment. To this aim, we perform cell and molecular biology experiments using yeast and mammalian cells. The data we produce, are used to develop mathematical models which are then used to formulate new experiments.
Ours is a joint research lab between IFOM ETS - The AIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology and Pazmany Peter Catholic University. IFOM is a cancer research center based in Milan, Italy.
